From 30 January to 1 February 2024, the second PAPER PUG Songwriting Camp took place at Hansa Studios in Berlin.
From 30 January to 1 February 2024, the second PAPER PUG Songwriting Camp took place at Hansa Studios in Berlin. In four alternating teams, customised songs were written daily for the artists Emi Wide, Katha Rosa, Sofyka, Dennis Henschel & Yosu. The songwriters Akina Ingold, David Oesterling, Dennis Henschel, Elin Bell, Emi Wide, Iuma, Jakob Mecke, Katha Rosa, Linda Stark, ThatGurlHanna, Thilo Wehrmann and Sofyka & Yosu took part in the creative exchange.
Initiator Linda Stark drew a positive balance after the songwriting sessions: “We had 3 wonderful days full of good vibes. Great songs were created and the first release has already been confirmed by one of the artist managements, which makes me personally incredibly happy and confirms that we are paving the way for strong collaborations with our PAPER PUG songwriting camps”.
PAPER PUG, an edition of Meisel Musikverlage, has set itself the goal of promoting newcomers and FLINTA* in particular. A “Bring Your Demo Session” took place on the second evening of the camp. Industry newcomers were able to get professional feedback on their song demos. Karo Schrader (songwriter), Safia Marie Bohm (Junior A&R Manager, Meisel Music) and Florian Schrödter (publisher and A&R, Schrödter, Wünsch & Kollegen GmbH) were on hand to answer the participants’ questions.
Together with Ed. PAPER PUG, we are delighted to have once again achieved such great results. “The atmosphere was inspiring and informal, perfect for creative exchange. Thanks to Linda Stark and
everyone involved for this experience. We look forward to more camps at Hansa Studios to further expand the pop division together with Edition PAPER PUG.” Said Kirsten Meisel (Managing Director, Meisel Musikverlage)
