With the motto “Deutsch Pop Liebe”, Meisel Music and welovemelodies organized a songwriting camp from June 8 to 10, 2023 at Hansa Studios in Berlin.

25 creatives from the German-speaking music scene took part in the camp. On board as writers were Ludwig Ebert, Robert Wallner, Tobias Tan Witte, David Gärtner, Sam Newit, Lukas Hillebrand, Sotiria Schenk, Heen Martens and Melanie Lokotsch.

On the artist side, Stanovsky, Julia Kautz, Gregor Hägele, Faso, MPNG and Sotiria, among others, were on board. For three days, the artists worked in their respective teams together with the authors and producers. In this way, 19 songs were created in the six teams, which changed daily.

The Berlin-based music publisher Meisel Music has been working with the Austrian publisher and label welovemelodies for several years. Previously, Meisel authors often wrote at welovemelodies camps, and welovemelodies authors often wrote at Meisel camps. The “Deutsch Pop Liebe” camp is now the first cooperation of this kind and more will follow.

“It was a pleasure to see 19 new songs emerge at the first Deutsch Pop Liebe songwriting camp at Hansa Studios,” says Kirsten Meisel, Managing Director Meisel Music: “The creative, emotional and inspiring atmosphere on site was fascinating.”

According to Bernhard Wittgruber, CEO welovemelodies, Meisel Music and welovemelodies “are not only connected by a business relationship, but also by a friendship.”

For Alexa Voss, COO welovemelodies, it was especially important “to create a vibe for all participants in which they can confidently let go. An atmosphere in which it is possible to write a great chart-worthy pop song, but also something that comes from the deepest soul. Or even everything at once. I think we succeeded in that!”

Ina Wiens, Copyright/Creative Meisel Music, is proud “to have united such talented, creative and lovely people in our first Deutsch Pop Liebe Camp.”
